Our mutual aid project was a success. Here is a copy of what was sent out to those Hoosiers who had their debt forgiven.

We at NWI DSA are thrilled to tell you we partnered with Undue Medical Debt to fundraise and abolish your medical debt with no strings attached.  No more collection calls, no more impacts on your credit report, no more fear of surprise statements or medical bankruptcy.  Through the support of our volunteers and donors we were able to ease the burden on families like yours and provide much needed relief to our community.

There are no future obligations required on your end, but if this news brought you joy and you want to pay it forward there are two things you can do.  First, shout out the NWI DSA on social media and offer us testimonials – we want to help others in a similar way, and any positive attention we get will help us with bigger projects in the future.  Second, take a small fraction of that money you saved and do something positive for someone, even if it’s yourself.  Take someone out to dinner, go to a concert, celebrate.  We at the DSA believe that Americans deserve a healthcare system that works for them rather than at their expense, and by affirming that we begin to foster a better society for ourselves and our families.  We wish you well, and may 2026 grant you even more good health and peace of mind.
